Miramar Care Home at Beltinge, Herne Bay, in Kent has been nominated for an award at the prestigious Independent Health Care Awards to be announced in September.
The Signature Senior Lifestyle run home is one of the five nominations in the Hotel Services Category.
The annual awards, now in their sixth year, highlight the range of achievements within the independent healthcare sector and pay tribute to those individuals and teams who have demonstrated outstanding excellence in their fields of work. According to event hosts, Laing and Buisson, the standards seen in all entrants to the 2011 awards is once again proof that the independent sector is more than capable of stepping up to the challenge of delivering the highest standards of care.
Tina Thomas, General Manager of Miramar, said: “We work extremely hard as a team to provide people living at the Miramar an excellent experience. We are very proud to have been nominated for such a prestigious award and that our work has been nationally recognised.”
Miramar, which has luxury one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments and a penthouse suite, a dedicated dementia community and exemplary care quality, is currently undergoing a £3.9 million expansion. This involves the demolition of the old Miramar wing and the development of a further 24 apartments together with communal areas, including a lounge, spa bathroom, refreshment area and staff room. It will be open before the end of the year.
The awards winners will be announced on 20 September at a Gala Dinner at the London Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square, which will celebrate the very best that independent care providers offer. The event will be hosted by writer, broadcaster and former Conservative MP Giles Brandreth.
