Clinovia adds new acquisition to offer more integrated home healthcare
Clinovia, Britain’s most experienced home healthcare provider, has taken another step towards further developing integrated home healthcare services in line with Government proposals by buying the Kent-based care agency Betacare.
Established in 1994, Betacare specialises in providing quality community support services to elderly or disabled people in their own homes. From offices in Rainham, Betacare operates a major contract with Medway Council and holds approved supplier status with Kent County Council for domiciliary care for people with behavioural and learning difficulties.
Home healthcare is an increasingly important part of the Government’s plans as outlined in the recent white paper – Our health, Our Care, Our Say: A new direction for community service. The Government seeks to ensure people receive the joined up care they need outside hospital and as close to home as possible. This is supported by a recent opinion poll which confirmed that almost 80% of people would rather be cared for in the comfort of their own home
Robbie Burns, chief executive of Clinovia, said: “Integration of services is important to service users and the commissioners of health and social care. Clinovia aims to facilitate this by offering comprehensive packages of care – meeting health and social care needs.
“Both companies provide care services to people in their own homes - Clinovia meets the health needs and Betacare the social needs. Therefore together we can provide a ‘one stop’ solution for purchasers and commissioners in the future.”
