Clinovia adds North West acquisition to care portfolio
Clinovia, Britain’s most experienced home healthcare provider, has further
consolidated its integrated home healthcare services with its fourth
purchase of 2006 by buying CCS Blackpool, a care agency specialising in
providing quality community support services to individuals in their own
homes.
Established in 1994, CCS Blackpool operates in a wide geographical area of
Lancashire, including Chorley and Blackpool. The company has preferred
provider status with Lancashire County Council for both domiciliary care and
mental health and learning disabilities care. In addition, it provides
services to Blackpool Borough Council. The company also serves a handful of
private patients.
The acquisition, made possible with funding from Lyceum Capital, follows
other Clinovia purchases in 2006 of Betacare, a Kent-based care agency, and
Guardian Homecare and Guardian Care Support Services.
Robbie Burns, chief executive of Clinovia, believes this latest deal further
strengthens Clinovia’s position at a time when the Government has stressed
that home healthcare is an increasingly important part of its healthcare
plans as outlined in the recent white paper – Our Health, Our Care, Our Say:
A new direction for community service.
Said Mr Burns: “This purchase is a clear demonstration yet again of how
committed we are to developing our business and meeting the Government’s
agenda. CCS Blackpool is a natural fit for Clinovia. The type of care the
company provides complements our own Complex Care division, where the
current focus is on service users with more complex clinical needs.
“It will also give us a presence in the North West, supporting not only a
number of Clinovia’s complex care packages in this locality but also the
nursing and careworker needs of Clinovia’s centre at Ashton under Lyne,
which already covers patients with deliveries in the Lancashire area.”
Daniel Adler, Partner, Lyceum Capital, added: “These recent acquisitions not
only demonstrate Clinovia’s strong commitment and leadership in home
healthcare services, but also underline the strength and performance of the
company. We are delighted to support them and arrange the funding as they
continue to grow and expand their business.”
