Mid Kent NHS Treatment Centre achieves another excellent patient satisfaction survey
The Mid Kent NHS Treatment Centre at Maidstone Hospital, has received an excellent satisfaction survey from its patients coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the NHS.
The day unit is an independent sector treatment centre (ISTC) and part of a programme introduced by the Government to reduce waiting times and increase choice for NHS patients. It is run by the independent sector company, Partnership Health Group, but delivers services on behalf of the NHS which are free at the point of delivery to NHS patients.
In the most recent quarterly patient survey, the Mid Kent NHS Treatment Centre received an overall score of just under 90 per cent for the excellence of its care. Of the patients seen by the hospital, more than 85 per cent said that they would recommend it to family and friends.
Comments from patients included: “I have been coming to Maidstone hospital for over 25 years and this was the best treatment I have received”; “Every aspect of my care was first class”; “Wonderful, spotless, immaculately clean facilities”; “Chemo and radio teams were wonderful, informative, made me feel very welcomed, comfortable and cared for throughout treatment.”
Speaking on behalf of the Mid Kent NHS Treatment Centre, which has now seen in excess of 23,000 patients since opening in November 2006, General Manager Pamela Mackie, commented: “Our commitment to excellent care and patient satisfaction is 100 per cent-plus, which is why it is satisfying for all members of staff to receive such a positive quarterly patient satisfaction survey.”
She added: “My thanks go to the patients who completed the survey, and to our members of staff who all worked – and continue to work – hard to achieve such a superb score rate.”
The Mid Kent NHS Treatment Centre, which opened its doors to patients on 6 November 2006, provides a range of general surgical day case procedures for NHS patients. It also carries out outpatient endoscopies and chemotherapy treatment. There are a total of 20 day places, the ward being configured with separate areas allocated to male and female patients.
