The National Fostering Agency (NFA), through its sister company NFA Partnerships, is delighted to announce three acquisitions

Published: 27th May 2009

The NFA, the second largest independent fostering agency in the UK, announced the acquisitions today, 27 April 2009, confirming the organisation’s commitment to a UK-wide coverage of high quality fostering services supported by a highly trained foster carer network.

The acquisitions – Alliance Foster Care in Northampton; Alpha Plus Fostering in Oldham; and a well established Essex-based agency – bring a further four offices to NFA’s network of nine existing regional offices and bring the total number of placements in NFA’s care to over 1,600. Additionally, the newly-acquired agencies complement the NFA’s existing geographical and contractual reach.

Commenting on the news, the chief executive of the NFA, Iain Anderson says: “The high standards at all three companies fit well with NFA’s track record of delivering the best possible outcomes for the children in its care.  We look forward to working with the staff and carers at the three companies to continue to grow NFA’s geographic reach and shape children’s services on behalf of our local authority customers throughout the UK.

“These agencies, like all the others in the organisation, will in turn benefit from the NFA’s national scale and operational back office, including its unique child and carer-centred IT system, removing the administration burden from key staff and allowing them to concentrate on the core tasks of placement outcomes and high quality care.

“Most pertinently, however, the NFA is pleased to add to its network of dedicated, passionate and well-trained foster carers, without whom the prospects for many tens of thousands of children that require looking after would be all the more bleak.”
