Area manager wins top national award
Barbara Hadley, Area Manager, Shaw healthcare has been honoured at a top national awards ceremony in London.
Barbara, who has worked in various management roles within Shaw healthcare home for the past five years won the Care Manager Award in the Caring Times National Care Awards 2009.
The award recognises how Barbara has implemented new initiatives amongst her team of Home Managers, using her expertise and knowledge to create dramatic impact on services and has significantly improved the lives of residents, staff and relatives.
Said Barbara: “I am absolutely delighted to have been given this award. It is an award not just for me but the whole team. I am very grateful of the support and opportunities that Shaw healthcare has given me over the last five years”.
The National Care Awards are the most prestigious awards of the care sector, and are now in their eleventh year. Barbara was chosen from hundreds of applicants and received her award from well-known TV presenter, Ruby Wax.
Suzanne Hughes, Midlands Regional Manager for Shaw healthcare, said: “I am absolutely delighted for Barbara. She is continually looking for ways to improve the lives of the people she cares for and this is a very well deserved award.”
