Camino healthcare, which is due to open a new care facility in Wood Lane, West Bromwich soon, is backing the youngsters of Mahal Football Club in the Sandwell Minor League.

Camino healthcare, recognising the important contribution that activity and sport makes to good mental health, has agreed to sponsor the club’s Under-13 and Under-14 teams and their logo will appear on the kit from the start of next season.

Mahal is one of the biggest clubs in the West Midlands with senior and junior teams. The club was formed in 1979, with a host of junior sides introduced in 1992.

Anna Horsey, Marketing Director of Camino healthcare, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer this support to Mahal. Our new unit to help people suffering from mental health illnesses will firmly establish Camino healthcare in the West Midlands area and we want to play a full part in the community.

“Mahal has shown itself to be excellent in providing sports facilities for young boys and girls and we are proud to be able to help them develop as a club.”

Juggy Dulai, of Mahal, said: “This sponsorship has given the players in two of our teams quite a boost. We are very grateful for Camino healthcare’s generosity and I know our youngsters are really looking forward to the start of the new season.”

Camino healthcare’s £1.6 million pound care facility will consist of an eight-bed unit and a five-bed unit. The state of the art accommodation will provide care and support for men and women with severe, enduring mental illness, experiencing a range of associated problems.

The company plans to develop five other mental health recovery units in the West Midlands area over the next few years, creating about 200 medical and non-medical jobs in the area.
